Ioanna Zorba was born in Melbourne, Australia, to immigrant parents, an experience that shaped her early understanding of cultural diversity and identity. At a young age, her family relocated to Greece, where she was immersed in the country’s rich history and traditions.

She pursued her formal education in the arts at the Department of Visual and Applied Arts at the School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Under the mentorship of Professor Dimitris Zouroudis in the First Studio, she developed her artistic practice, refining her techniques across various mediums while engaging with a dynamic community of artists. The academic environment provided her with the space to merge theory and practice, deepening her conceptual approach and allowing her artistic vision to flourish.

Before pursuing formal studies in the arts, she studied Italian Language and Literature at the School of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. This early academic experience enriched her cultural and intellectual perspective, particularly in understanding the interplay between language, culture, and visual expression.

She currently lives and works between Serres and Thessaloniki, drawing inspiration from both cities to continue evolving her creative practice. More about her work can be found on her official website.
